Introduction:
The conference discussed the contribution of statistics to assessing globalisation, the new statistical needs implied by globalisation and the impact it has had and will continue having on statistics.
The conference provided a forum for multidisciplinary discussions between statisticians, policymakers, researchers, representatives of banking and business associations and the media.
