…until the 2013 grand opening event
In 2013 the EUROPEAN CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB will focus on Latvia and be organised in cooperation with Latvijas Banka.

Europe has its foundations in common ideas and values, as well as in an infinitely rich culture, made up of the traditions of the individual countries and regions. In line with the motto of the European Union, “United in diversity”, the EUROPEAN CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB reflect Europe’s unity and diversity in equal measure.
Each year, the EUROPEAN CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB focus on a different Member State of the European Union. In the autumn months Frankfurt am Main becomes the setting for many high-quality artistic performances, ranging from music, dance and theatre to art lectures and exhibitions, literary events and films, as well as events for children. The ECB organises the CULTURAL DAYS together with the national central bank of the featured country and with the support of its many partners, who are committed to promoting European arts and culture.
Portugal was the first country to be featured as part of the CULTURAL DAYS back in 2003. Since then a growing number of visitors from the Frankfurt area, other parts of Europe and all over the world have enjoyed a rich variety of cultural and artistic performances from Poland (2004), Hungary (2005), Austria (2006), Greece (2007), Romania (2009), the Netherlands (2010), Italy (2011) and France (2012). In 2008, to mark the tenth anniversary of the ECB, the CULTURAL DAYS were dedicated to all 27 EU Member States.
Over the years, the EUROPEAN CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB have become an important event in Frankfurt’s cultural diary.
