The European Central Bank (ECB), in cooperation with kuratorenwerkstatt, is offering guided tours of its new headquarters, which are currently being built on the site of Frankfurt’s former wholesale market hall (Grossmarkthalle). During the tour of the construction site, which covers the Grossmarkthalle and the new structures, visitors are able to see and learn about all the construction work that is currently under way. However, for safety reasons, it is not possible to go inside the Grossmarkthalle or the office towers.
There are generally three to four tours on offer every other Sunday, with one tour per month normally being conducted in English and the others in German. Each tour takes a maximum of 30 people.
The tours are free, but you are required to register beforehand via the online booking calendar. This shows the number of places still available on each tour and the language in which the tour will be conducted (DE for German tours; EN for English tours). A zero in red indicates that there are no more places available for that particular tour. Please note that there are no waiting lists.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation E-mail, which you will need to print out and bring with you on the day of the tour. In addition, please read carefully the guidelines for visiting the construction site for the new ECB premises. Please sign the document and bring it also with you on the day of your tour.
The meeting point is at the north entrance to the construction site (Sonnemannstraße 20/Tor 2).
Visitors will be required to hand in an official photo ID as security.
You will need to come dressed in appropriate clothing for the weather on the day; please also ensure that you wear (or bring with you) a pair of socks. The ECB will provide safety boots, hard hats and high-visibility vests.
The tour will last about 90 minutes and will be on foot. For safety reasons, the tour group must stay together at all times, i.e. visitors will not be allowed to leave the site before the tour has finished.
We regret that, for safety reasons, children and teenagers under the age of 14 are not allowed to participate in the tours.
Please note that the tour does involve walking around a construction site. The site is not obstacle-free and therefore not suitable for people using wheelchairs or any other kind of orthopaedic device to aid mobility.
Filming and recording during the tour is prohibited. However, photographs may be taken for personal use, providing that they are not of any security installations or plans. For permission to use photographic material and recordings for other purposes, please contact the Press and Information Division of the ECB by sending an e-mail to newpremises-info@ecb.europa.eu.
